Super Junior (Korean: 슈퍼 주니어), or better known as SJ or SuJu (Korean: 슈주), is an R & B music group from Seoul, South Korea. Its members numbered 13 people are Leeteuk, Heechul, Han Geng, Yesung, Kang-In, Shindong, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum, and Kyuhyun. Debut album is SuperJunior05 (TWINS), was released in 2005.
Pre-debut
Since the late 1990s, the Korean talent agency and record label SM Entertainment has held annual auditions to discover new talents that complement the successful pop group HOT, SES, and Shinhwa, who were all created by the founder of BC, Soo-Man Lee, in mid- the 1990s. Leeteuk and Eunhyuk are two of the first members of the group to recruit in 2000 under BC's Starlight Casting System in Seoul.
In 2001, the first company outside the country they hold casting auditions and find Han Geng in Beijing, was elected in between three thousand applicants. In the same year, Yesung found in Seoul's casting system with the theme, Shindong, Sungmin and Donghae also selected to become trainees after their appearance in a contest sponsored by BC. In 2002, Kang-In and was recruited along with Kim Heechul Kibum, who was found in Los Angeles. Siwon in-casting in 2003 and Ryeowook in 2004, where the latter is found through Chinchin Youth Festival. In 2005, Kyuhyun selected.
Not long after the boy band TVXQ debuted in 2003, the news of Lee's plan that has never happened before that is forming another boy band quickly spread on the Internet. In early 2005, Lee confirmed the news and announced that the boy band that consists of twelve members will make its debut near the end of the year, promoting the group to sing this to be "The Gateway of Stardom of Asia." Lee announced that that the majority of members in this group were selected because they have experience appearing as an actor, MC, model, and host of the radio before his debut. Heechul and Kibum was living as an entertainer, and most other members have already made various appearances on television and the media. which is inspired by the concept of rotation Japanese girl group Morning Musume, this group will also experience line-up changes, with new members to replace some old members who are elected every year to keep this group still young and have many talents. This concept was then introduced into K-pop market.
For a while the group was rumored to be called OVER, acronym for "Obey the Voice for EACH Rhythm" (Obey the Voice for Each Rhythm). However, before this name was decided, BC is only referred to them as a Junior, who came from the members who are young when they first became SM trainees. After the members show off their different talents to the company on a picnic. Then the company decided to formalize this group named Super Junior, the first generation of Super Junior.
Super Junior 05 made their debut in the pre-Korean channel M-Net on September 11, 2005. At the show, they perform various styles of hip hop dance. They display the B2K dance. Han Geng, Eunhyuk, and Donghae also perform dances from a song Usher, Caught Up. But their appearance was not broadcast on television, until finally on May 16, 2006 broadcast of a segment on the show Super Junior Show.
